I survived. Things are looking up. Today was a good day...
The RIS (thing of it as a traffic cop between the electronic medical records system and the PACS--imaging system) is installed. Had my first phone/web training session dealing with it. Looks like it'll be a fairly straight forward program to use, the problem is not having applications training on it until the week of 4/19....we're having the CT scanner applications training the week of 4/12...really they should be done in the other order..... No clue on when we'll have PACS applications....
Some wants/needs for my job and work area have been met or are in the process of being met, so some stress has been lifted. This makes me feel better. Plus I spent the morning at the radiologists' clinic. They have the same scanner that we have, so it was good to see it. Scanned the last couple of patients while I was there, I think it's going to work well! The radiologists are both really nice, easy going, should be good to work with.
My feet are killing me, even though I only stood from 1-530....but I didn't have clean matching scrubs this morning, so I dressed business casual instead. Including shoes. So owie. I just placed an order for 5 more sets of scrubs. This is good, cuz I only have 3 sets currently, which was great when I worked 3 days a week, but now that I work 5, I keep running out!!
This weekend should be good. The weather is supposed to be warm and sunny tomorrow, and atleast part of Sunday. Clara is going to a gymnastics meet with a friend tomorrow, and Jake is spending the night at a friends house tomorrow night. And they want him by 2pm! So he's going to be gone a long time. I already lined up a babysitter for tomorrow night, so Clara will like having the one on one time (the sitter is her gymnastics coach).
My goal for the weekend is to take a load of stuff to Goodwill and/or Reruns. And to plan dinners for next week, along with making atleast 1 loaf of bread, and 1 other baked good.
Sarah and my nephews get here next Tuesday. Clara is SO excited, counting it down on the calendar. Hopefully we can do some fun things while their here. On the 2nd, Daci (Sarah's husband) gets here, as do Mike and Margo (my brother in law and niece) from England. They're staying a week.
I can't decide if my new job/schedule will allow for more family time or less? I think we'll just need to take advantage of my getting off earlier, and having Saturday's off. Of course I'm working at the hospital next Saturday.....oh well...
Okay time to head to bed, I'm tired!!
