Times....they are a changing....

I know I only bitch about work these days, I hate that it has such an effect on me.

Starting the week after next I'll be changing schedules once again. I'll be working Thursday, Friday, Saturday from 7a-7p. I'm not very excited about the every Saturday business, but I worked every Sunday for almost a year and it didn't kill me. I'll be home every night before the kids go to bed, and even tho I'll probably miss out on some Saturday little league stuff, I'll still be able to take Clara to ballet, Jacob to cub scouts, and both of them to gymnastics and karate.

I need to see if I can find someone to trade 2 days with me in a few weeks though. I signed up for 11(!!!) classes at the Creating Keepsake Convention and then got talked in to doing a full blown retreat that weekend . But of course it's Friday morning to Sunday afternoon, and I just don't have enough PTO to cover those 24 hours.

I'm gonna have to do some begging and trading because I just can't swing 24 for that weekend, then the 60 I'd need for our DC trip (Friday/Saturday in Seattle, and in DC the next Thursday/Friday/Saturday). I'm hoping my co-workers come through for me...

I also need to think of some ideas to make this all easier on Tom. He's not happy about me working Saturdays, really he doesn't know it's for sure happening yet (I guess there is a tiny chance it might not, but as things stand it'll happen).

I don't want him to dread every weekend.

I think I'll be encouraging him to do things with friends on Friday nights, since I'll be home by 730/745 and NOT wanting to go out, seeing a I'll be needing to leave by 615a Saturday morning. Then he'd at least have a fun time. And once the weather gets a bit nicer, he can take the kids to the Gilbert House or OMSI anytime he wants since we have a membership....Most likely he'll spend every Saturday from the beginning of April until school gets out, out at the little league fields...

Well I gotta go to bed, I've been sooo lazy the last few weeks, Jake has been late to school twice, and Clara stayed home 1 day last week, and went late today, plus a day last week. Slacker mom. I need to stop...

Maybe Tom and I will get lunch tomorrow. A benefit of not having to work until 2pm......

that is a hard schedule. For about a year I worker Sunday 8am to 8pm, Monday to Wednesday from 1:30-9. The kids were in school then so I literally didn't see them for days. Oh I took them to school in the morning, but it hardly counts.
