Anyone else watch this channel/put it on for their kids? It's PBS kids all day, everyday. In some ways it's a good thing, like right now both kids are hopped up on crack or something, and it's 11pm. But good ol' Barney was on, and now teletubbies. OKay so maybe I want to shoot myself, but I'm not listening to the same episodes of the backyardigans or little einstines OVER AND OVER AND OVER. They don't even really watch TV, they just like the back ground noise. I can't blame them though, I'm the same way.
We went to the inlaws house tonight. Always an *interesting* experience. We hadn't seem them in a month. Both work full time and have Wednesday and Thursdays off, so it makes weekend trips hard. We ended up just going out for pizza which was NOT what Tom and I wanted to do-we'd prefer to keep them contained at a house instead of in public ;)-but off to Roundtable we went. There was a 6 or 7 yr old boy there that was being a little shit, I just wanted to smack him. He kept telling Jake to come beg for quarters, and then at one point was YELLING at us to give him $5. Luckily Jake started it too so I could swiftly reprimand him and tell him it's not okay, I wasn't going to tear in to the brat, even though he severly needed a smack upside the head. His mom was just sitting talking to her friend while this kid ran around crazy begging for money. It's was some FINE parenting skills on her part. Ugh.
Then we went to the Dollar Tree next door to get some more candy for Jake's treat bags for his class party. AFTER the stupid manager rang my sale up and ran my card for $5 he tells me there is a $7 min. debit card purchase. Seriously, WTF?!?!?! Why didn't you tell me that 30 seconds ago when I could grabbed 2 more pieces of crap? Then it turned out Jake wanted a car set and Clara a stuffed animal so I went back to stupid manager and said I didn't realize the $7 min and I wanted to get these also. So he made it sound like he was doing me a favor by not charging the $2 for only buying $2 more, but then didn't say if he was still surcharging purchase #1. I'm going to watch my bank account and be prepared to argue it because the recipt says NOTHING about the $7 min purchase bullshit. Ugh #2.
Okay I can't handle the teletubbies anymore, I'll start beating my head against the wall....

The TV is always on for background noise here, too. We don't watch Sprouts but we watch a lot of TVO Kids...which I know you guys probably don't get down there. From 6am-2pm it's Gisele's Big Backyard and they play shows in between little blurbs with Gisele in her big backyard and Gisele is the most annoying human being to ever live. It's painful to watch her...she's so spastic and goofy.
