Today after going to the farmers market, the bank, the store, and BK to try to new chicken fries, Jake managed to lock Clara in the car with my keys. I was unaware that the doors could lock using the switch on the door. I've tried to do that many times in the past, and it never freaking locked. The drivers door would always stay unlocked. But Jake some how managed to fiddle around with it, and then I closed the door to go get Clara out, and she was stuck. I was freaking out, trying so hard not to cry. It's about 91ish out now, but this was 5 hours ago, so I'm thinking it was atleast mid to high 80's. THANK GOD our drive way is mainly shady at that time of the day. I had to run across the street to our non-english speaking neighbor and use her phone to call my parents. Then I came home and broke in through our opened bedroom window.
Once inside I figured I'd be able to use the extra set of van keys to get her out. They were no where to be found. I was sooo upset at this point. It had been almost 15 mins and Clara was pretty upset. So I trekked back to the neighbors house to call my parents to come over and call the lock people to come right over. Even with my mom helping me look, there were still no keys to be found. It took almost 40 mins for the lock people to come, they were very fucking lucky it wasn't hot outside or I would have had to break the window to the van open. Once they got there, it took all of 30 second to jimmy the door open and get her out. I've never felt so helpless in my life.
Luckily she's fine, and took a good long nap, and she thinks her papa saved her ;) I'm just grieving about not getting hot chicken fries :( Guess I'll have to try them tomorrow instead.

(((hugs)))
That is so scary...I locked Lydia in the car way back when she was a baby, and I had to call 911...good news was the firemen that set her free were VERY hot ;)
It's so sad that this guy was a total hillbilly. His BO was outragous. And he just kept talking and talking while my parents were trying to escape and go home. I would have loved some hot firemen!!
