Two good days in a row! Amazing! Yesterday we were lazy and slept in. Then everyone got bathed and we headed up to Oaks Park for my dad's company picnic. That was more fun than expected-there were a ton of rides that both kids could go on, and each of them got 1 on 1 time with various adults. Jake had a blast getting to ride in a go-cart with my dad. He wasn't very adventuous about the rides though. He went on the ferris wheel, the go carts, and the little space shooter thing 2 or 3 times. Clara went on the titl-a-wherl with Cara and I, the space shooter thing, the big slide twice, and the frog hopper. Cara, Tom and I went on this freaky ride. Screaming eagel I think it was called. It involved twirling in a combination of that pirate ship motion. Except you went alot higher. Lots of fun. We all ate too much fried and bbqed chicken, potatoe salad, and watermelon. And ice cream bars. I think Jake had 3-he wanted to try each of the options.
When we got home we just cleaned up a bit, and then I did my fabulous walk away the pounds 3 mile dvd because I didn't feel like driving to the gym. The kids stayed up way too late and I was getting so frustrated with them. It sucks ASS that they have to share a room. They never fucking fall asleep. I finalyl put Clara in to our bed at 11 with Tom, and Jake STILL didn't fall asleep until almost midnight. But he fell asleep in Clara's bed. Go figure.
Today we are just being lazy. Everyone is still in PJ's. I just got a call from a friend about going to the park, but Tom will be home for lunch in 1/2 hour, so I had to turn her down. Which sucks because now I'll just have to take them to the park alone this afternoon--it's so much nicer to have someone to chat with...
I need to figure out what to make for dinner. Off to search for recipes.

So, what did ya end up eating? Find a good recipe?
I ended up just dumping the chicken in the crockpot with bbq sauce. It's the way I always make. I just wanted something new and differnt. Oh well. It was still yummy ;)
I haven't been on a Tilt-o-Whirl since my best friend covered me in breakfast vomit during a spin when we were in 8th grade.
Thank God I've never been puked on, on a ride. They did close the 'matterhorn' ride (which was actually 50's 'cars' that spun around) due to puke, and Cara and I got on right after that. I told her to find a car that was dry ;)
OK, Katherine, THAT was a mental picture I could have done without.
You almost ruined my Cheetoes(then I realized, they are Cheetoes, therefore impossible to ruin)
Which one is the Til-o-whirl? B/c in middle school I rode that ride that you stick to the wall on, and yacked my guys out as I left.
*That* one is the Gravitron, I think, Emily. I rode that one once and once only...my hair got tangled in something behind that wall and a large portion of it got ripped out when the wall started sliding up and down.
The Tilt-O-Whirl is those half-circle things you sit in that spin like crazy on their own circular track, over and over and over again while they are propelled up and down and around and around on another moving track. Such fun.
